The run this morning just about killed me .... I am tired and could use a nap. We left an hour later than usual as the wind was howling and it was pouring rain at our usual departure time. It was better when we left but half way through the two hour run, it cleared up and was just beautiful out. Our running path today took us through a lot of fall colour and we stopped a few times to admire particularly stunning trees. But I am feeling the run now - my muscles ache. This is the last long training run as we near the event and start our taper next week.
It was just S and I today - I had a chance to ask her lots of questions about the situation with my nephew T. S is a criminal defence lawyer and has a lot of exposure the the type of kids who beat up (kill) strangers on the street. This particular case will be tried at the same court where S does a lot of her work - luckily she was not asked to defend any of the four who killed T's friend. She will be able to give me any details she hears.
This afternoon I am heading downtown to the new H&M store. Yeah! Been looking forward to this for awhile. For any of you who have not heard of H&M - they describe it as the Ikea of clothing. It is a Swedish chain and everyone has been raving about it. The location we are hitting today is their brand new flagship store which just opened in downtown Toronto. After that we will have dinner at my favourite vegetarian restaurant - Le Commonsol. This will be a good day. I wonder if my legs will drop off by the end of it?
The Ikea of clothing -- I have never heard it refered to as that but it describes H&M perfectly. I have gotten some cheap quick fixes for my wardrobe there. And could use another trip to one soon. The best day to go to that kind of place - and the crazy malls, is when you play hooky from work on a weekday when all the kids are in school!
