We had great weather here on the weekend - perfect for being outside doing stuff. Cool though. It was a weekend of walking for me. On Friday we did a brisk 1.5 hour walk through my usual trail along the river. I'll have to take some pictures to post one of these days - it is the most wonderful trail that I never get tired of. Saturday we walked downtown. This is something I learned from an old boyfriend. We drove our cars to the subway station that is on the furthest edge of suburban Toronto. And from there we walked into the city centre and then south to the lower edge of the city. I've always wondered how far it is and honestly don't know. But the way we walked and shopped along the way I have to think we covered 20 km easily over the course of the day. It is an interesting walk as it passes through many different ethnic areas. We finished the day with dinner at my favourite vegetarian restaurant. I was so tired when I got home that my legs ached. Sunday was my long run (switched from Saturday) and a tough one it was. After this we went strawberry picking. I hadn't done that in years and it was fun. I came home with amazing fresh berries and some strawberry-rhubarb tarts. Just finished the last of these a few minutes ago. Tonight I had an early run planned ..... until Sharon called and asked if I wanted to join her on her hill training session. Why I said yes, I'm not quite sure. My legs are going to take a couple of days to forgive me I think. At least I know I earned that strawberry rhubarb tart!
More power to you - i'm sure if i ran 1.5 yards i'd have a coronary. Guess i should get back to exercising, huh?
