Luckily I had many errands so managed to skive off work for a few hours today. I won't go into the boring errands and will go straight to the fun part. I put my bike on the bike rack and went down to the waterfront trail. We have the most amazing trail system along the Toronto waterfront. The weather had been questionable, but by the time I headed out, it was perfect. I had a great ride. Ended up in Samual Smith Park. You can look out along Lake Ontario from this park and see all of downtown Toronto - a perfect view of the CN Tower. The lakeside area of this park reminds me of the seacoast - in Maine or New Brunswick somewhere. I always feel transported when I spend time in this park. There is a beach - always frequented by many dogs. So I sat on my bench and watched the dogs and children. The sun, sky and water were so peaceful. It was the perfect spot to write in my journal and speculate on the reason that my love life is in tatters again. Very bad choices Wendy. Or maybe bad expectations. But I'm OK. Now used to the idea it feels not bad.
hookey is the best cure when you need to clear your head...hope all is okay...journal writing is such a wonderful thing, huh?

Journal writing is BEST when you have skived off work and cycled in the sun.

Skive off work--playing hookey. Skive off must be a Canadian term, yes? I did that last Friday--I was sick--of it! When you put the vinegar in the strawberries, does it make them sour? What happens? I'm so crazy about mashed up strawberries with sugar over anything. An old midwestern way of doing it--like my mom.
What is your very favorite, very savory, chicken recipe?
